(the Kelvin timeline notwithstanding because I loved Karl Urban, Zoë Saldana’s Uhura and Yelchin’s Chekov, but still I still hated Kirk and Spock because they were too much like their TOS characters).īasically, the studio wanted a show for morons and I think that’s what they got, albeit with some cool concepts mixed in.Vladimir Mariano is a 3D design and printing instructor, specializing in teaching 3D printing, 3D design, electronics, programming, and using Fusion 360.ģD design and printing are already core skills for any Maker, and Vladimir will show you how easy it is to get started and create something useful and beautiful in this Masterclass.ģD printing and design software are mature and ready to turn your imagination into precisely placed plastic. I can’t think of a single character from TOS I like, but several I absolutely hate: McCoy is my all time least favourite Trek character at least Kirk, Spock and Sulu were redeemed in the movies. It was interesting and intelligent and had a nice balanced Captain. I really liked The Cage, and if it were all like that I’d look more favourably on it. They can’t even get distances or time right, much less little things like legal procedure in “court martial” (and there were plenty of people in the 60s who knew how the law worked ). And I don’t just mean the melodramatic music and misogynistic crap (and I have no problems with sets or makeup/costumes because I understand the limitations of the time and budget), but it’s so unscientific and unrealistic and has almost no continuity… I mean, Batman had better science explanations and arcs. I could when I was 6 or 7, but it’s all just so stupid to me since I got a little older.
